Despite what the learned and highly qualified members of the Supreme Court say, I still say IT'S WRONG! This kind of software blocks all sorts of stuff, not just porn. Want info on breast cancer? Sexually transmitted diseases? Robert Mappelthorpe? TOO BAD!
Apparently, because we can turn the software off, it's ok. I still think it's wrong. It's just another step towards Government enforced morality. Wait, let me rephrase that, Government enforced CHRISTIAN morality.
I've been working at this library for about a year now and I have never seen anyone get broadsided by porn. It's not lurking behind bushes, looking for innocent little kiddies to molest, it's just NOT.
If libraries refuse to put this software on their computers then the federal government can withold money.
Great. Now I am seriously annoyed.
Oh! While I was sitting here, fuming about the injustices that are part and parcel of the Bush administration, a lady came in and gave me a hard time about the $3.00 she owes in fines.
Man, sometimes I just want to lean over the counter and smack these ornery people. Yes, even an old lady. Well, there you go, I am going to hell. But for the love of all that is holy...did I have anything to do with those fines? Did I force her to leave the three books she owed sitting on her dining room table for weeks on end? Did I use some sort of mind-control device to make her forget just so we could reap the fantastical sum of $3.00?
Yes. Yes I did. And now that you know, I'll have to kill you.
