And on another note, it's snowing like a b*tch here in central New York state, and as a result, a lot of schools, etc. were closed today. Except for the library because I live a block away from work and can walk there. Dammit. So, since there was no school, the kids converged on the library to bother me and interrupt my Bookworm (have you played it? It's available at popcap.com) game time.
Thing is, three of our computers are down (it's a tragic tale.) and so we are left with two computers with internet access and about every freakin' kid in the tri-state area clamoring for it so they can download pictures of Eminem (this guy is apparently a role model for children, oh how times have changed. When I was a kid, Mr. T was the man. He told us to drink milk and stay away from drugs, Eminem tells kids to beat their wives and hate gay people) and sneak porn when I'm not watching.
Long story short, it was a bad day for me. I had to wade through the little buggers into the computer lab every half hour to make the kids get off so others could get their 30 minutes. I also had to mediate disputes. "But Billy's already had 30 minutes! It's my turn!" Some whiny kid would say. I would slap my forehead and pull Billy off, only to listen to him whine. I can't believe that I want to be a librarian for the rest of my life. I guess maybe once I've got an MLS, then I can foster all the unpleasant crap off on the clerks.
Man, when 4:30 came, I practically sprinted all the way home...no mean feat when you realize that I was hurdling 40 ft. snow drifts thoughtfully plowed onto sidewalks by the public works people.
Okay, now that I've vented, I feel much better. We're supposed to get up to another foot of snow tonight. Well, I was feeling better.
